A reminder of how to access the University of Westminster subscribed-to online version of Music Week
It has up-to the minute music industry content -  with news, analysis, and opinion every day.

University of Westminster has access to the online digital version of Music Week.
 

Log in via Library Search by typing "music week" into the "books journals and more tab". 

click on online access for more information including the link to the user name and password under the Miscellaneous E-journals link. Connect by using the Miscellaneous E-journal link. 

Make sure you have logged in to Library Search for access to the user name and password. 

You can use Music Week online without logging in with our subscription, but you will only have access to limited content.

Get a £20 Amazon voucher with Project DigitISE focus group

 

The University is undertaking some research into students' understanding of and attitudes to digital literacy skills, especially as they relate to employability.

In November 2012 Project DigitISE undertook a survey of students and a summary of findings can be found on the project blog: http://blog.westminster.ac.uk/jisc-employability

Now we are looking for second and third year students to take part in a focus group. We ask for up to two hours of your time and participants will each receive a £20 Amazon voucher. Focus groups take place 4pm to 6pm on

Looking for number and factoids for the British Music industry ? try BPI yearbook 2012 and the Official charts

The new edition of the 2012 BPI Yearbook is now available - find it in the statistics collection at the number: 338.4762138932 BPI.

The yearbook provides facts, figures and analsis of recorded music in the UK - Topics covered include music consumption, music retail, sales figures by format and this year even includes a profile of the top rock best sellers in vinyl.

Because it's an invaluable resource you won't be able to borrow it. However we also keep the older editions, so you can make a comparison of data going back to 1999.

Some of the information that has been used has come from the Official Charts company http://www.officialcharts.com/.  It is responsible for the commissioning, marketing, distribution and management of the UK's official music and video charts.



You can also access their Vault, where you can search their full database of singles, albums , compilation and video charts going back to 1960, here. Search for artists, charts, singles and album titles by filling in the relevant field on the top right.
